Most browsers support so-called “access keys” enabling users to jump to a hyperlink or the hyperlink's target by pressing a combination of keys (a “hot key”). With Internet Explorer, Mozilla and Netscape 6 or later you will have to press the access key together with the ALT key (Windows, Linux) or the CTRL key (Mac OS). When using the Internet Explorer on Windows you will have to press RETURN afterwards.
With Opera 7 or later you will have to press the ESC key together with the SHIFT key first to enter the access key mode. Afterwards you can jump to the hyperlink's target by pressing the access key.
Some access key definitions on this website might overwrite predefined hot keys of the Internet Explorer. To use the original Internet Explorer function press the ALT first, release it and then press the appropriate key (e.g. F for the file menue).
Page Setup
The whole website is set up following a scheme to structure the content: Each page has a page heading (XHTML-Element: h1). The page is divided further into sections with appropriate section headings (XHTML-Element: h2) and possibly subsections with subsections headings (XHTML-Element: h3). This enables users of the screen reader software Jaws to use the key combination ALT+INSERT+3 to jump to the next (sub)section of the page.
Hyperlinks
Browsers that support multiple windows or tabs will open each hyperlink in the same window/tab, except those that refer to a third party website. Such hyperlinks are marked through the relationship attribute of the link element “a” (XHTML-Element: <a rel="ext" href="...</a>).
