Telnet Access

Servers of zeitform Internet Dienste cannot be accessed using Telnet. The same applies to the so-called “r-services”, rsh, rlogin and rcp.

The reason for the absence of these services is – besides of security flaws of the telnet daemon – the feature of these protocols to transfer the whole data unencrypted, including user name and password.

The secure shell (SSH) is a complete replacement for these services. You'll find appropriate client programs on http://software.zeitform.info. Instructions for connecting to a server of zeitform Internet Dienste using SSH are available on this server.

As an alternative to SSH we could provide you with access via telnets. Please contact us if you're interested in that.
